Tag Heuer - Full movement service - hand and dial relume.

This Tag Heuer came in with slight water damage to the dial and the movement.

Some presume a watch is water resistant from the date of purchase. In fact this is not the case. Outside factors such as the washing away of sealing grease to a battery exchange can affect the water resistance of any watch.

A nice little, satisfying job of removing the old lume, and replacing it with a fresh compound.

TAG Heuer is a Swiss luxury watchmaker with a storied history that spans over a century. Here's a brief overview of the brand's history:

1. Founding: TAG Heuer was founded in 1860 by Edouard Heuer in St-Imier, Switzerland. Initially, the company was known as "Edouard Heuer, Fabrique d'Horlogerie."

2. Innovations in Chronographs: TAG Heuer quickly gained a reputation for precision timekeeping and innovative chronographs. In 1882, they patented their first chronograph. This was followed by the "Mikrograph" in 1916, capable of measuring 1/100th of a second.

3. Olympic Games and Motorsports: The brand's timepieces were used in various sporting events, including the 1920 and 1924 Olympic Games. TAG Heuer also made its mark in motorsports by developing dashboard chronographs for automobiles.

4. Carrera and Monaco: In the 1960s, TAG Heuer introduced iconic models like the "Carrera" and the "Monaco." The latter gained fame through Steve McQueen, who wore it in the film "Le Mans."

5. TAG Acquisition: In 1985, TAG (Techniques d'Avant Garde) Group, a Luxembourg-based holding company, acquired a majority stake in Heuer. The brand was then renamed TAG Heuer.

6. Innovations in Watches: TAG Heuer continued to innovate, introducing quartz watches and, later, the "Aquaracer" collection for diving enthusiasts. They were also among the first to create smartwatches in partnership with tech companies.

7. Precision and Timing: TAG Heuer maintained its presence in the world of motorsports, serving as an official timekeeper for Formula 1, and collaborating with racing legends like Ayrton Senna.

8. Heritage and Modernization: TAG Heuer has balanced its heritage with modernity, offering a wide range of watches that cater to both traditional and contemporary tastes.

9. Connected Watches: TAG Heuer ventured into smartwatches, combining Swiss craftsmanship with digital technology. The "TAG Heuer Connected" series is a testament to this fusion.

In summary, TAG Heuer is known for its rich history of precision timing, chronograph innovations, iconic watch models, and a strong connection to the world of sports, particularly motorsports. Over the years, the brand has maintained its reputation for quality and innovation, making it a prominent figure in the watchmaking industry.
