Jeager Le Coultre Military Watch. Full service.

Updated: May 2, 2023

This great little timepiece came in for a full service.

At first it seemed fine however the balance staff was a little bent, so this needed replacing. Luckily, I could get hold of another one.

I also replaced the mainspring with one of appropriate size.

Being circa 1941, I was expecting a lot more wear and tear. There was a little on one of the wheels, however the watch is working fabulously. Such a pleasure to work on something of outstanding quality.

All done and looking great.

A closer look.

All done!

Jaeger-LeCoultre is a Swiss luxury watch manufacturer that has a long history of producing timepieces for military use. During World War II, the company produced a number of wristwatches for military pilots and soldiers. These watches were highly accurate, reliable, and durable, and they were designed to withstand the harsh conditions of combat.

One of Jaeger-LeCoultre's most famous military watches is the Mark XI, which was produced for the Royal Air Force (RAF) in the late 1940s. The Mark XI was a highly accurate and reliable watch that was designed to meet the strict specifications of the RAF. It featured a 36mm stainless steel case, a black dial with luminous numerals and hands, and a high-precision movement that was regulated to within a few seconds per day.

Today, vintage Jaeger-LeCoultre military watches are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. They are prized for their historical significance, their precision engineering, and their timeless design. If you're interested in acquiring a Jaeger-LeCoultre military watch, it's important to do your research and buy from a reputable dealer to ensure that you're getting an authentic timepiece.
