On closer inspection, the escapemant (the bit on the top) was increadibly gunged up. So much so I needed to clean small parts by hand, as a degreaser did not come close. There was also some work to do polishing the fine pivots as they had worn.
As these clock are presented in a brass and glass case, it is very important to get the finish to a high standard. Looks pretty shiney huh?
This clock is now running very happily and will bring pleasure for years to come.
